Body Mass Index (BMI) and your health

Hello readers!

Each and everyone of you is a health concern person once you've click to this page. Therefore, thank you for visiting!

Now, do you know that there are numerous ways of determining your health status? Apart of all, I would like to introduce you to the most simple and widely used method in this post.

Body Mass Index (BMI)

BMI is a measure that can be used to check one's health status of weight to their height. Well, BMI is an acceptable proxy for thinness and fatness. It appears to correlate strongly with many types of metabolic and disease outcome in many populations. As for doctors or other physicians, they may perform further assessments in order to measure the accuracy of your health status. However, BMI is recommended as one of the easiest way that public can perform this measure by themselves too. Besides, it is inexpensive at all!

Now take out your calculator and just follow the formula (I use kilograms for weight and metres for height) :


Formula: weight (kg) / [height (m)]2


Or you can easily access the online BMI calculator and they will calculate for you. Easy right?

Now you have obtained your value but what does the number tells you? Stay tune for the next post and I will reveal the meaning of the mysterious number ^_^!
